This New Year

This sounds strange, next year I want to aim to live life as much as I can. I spend a lot of my time working especially over this busy time period and everything seems to clutter up. for example my handbag has the strangest of items in it.

This year I'm going to do what makes me happy, equally as much as in the previous year I aimed to try new things. That aim didn't go too badly as I ended up applying to university, something I've never seen my self doing.

so we'll see how this year turns out, and lets hope my life doesn't end up as cluttered as my handbag again.

Until next time, stay beautiful

Eylure brow kit

Recently I've been splurging on some little bits to treat me. One of these is the Eylure Pro-Brow dye kit in dark brow. Being naturally dark blonde, half of my eyebrows are great but the other half are basically invisible. Because of both this and dying my hair a whole shade darker I decided to start tinting them. I've always loved having dark thick eyebrows and dying them means that I don't have to fill them in as much.

This brow kit is very simple and easy, it is cost effective due to having up to 12 uses from just over £6, whereas at a salon it would cost double that each time.
If you either want fuller looking brows or are challenged in the brow department I would recommend giving this ago.

Revlon Colourstay Gel Envy

A couple of weeks ago I picked these up spur of the moment as they were on promotion on in boots. I've got to say for someone that gets a gel manicure by a technician every two weeks, these really rival it. Better still for the same price as a manicure I can get various colors that are easy to change with nail varnish remover . I've even tried the top coat over normal nail vanish and it seems to work just the same.

300 all in, diamond top coat, 500 ace of spades

on here I have ace of spades but it is a bit darker as I've painted over black false nails.

overall I really love these polishes and cant wait to see what they do next.

Summer weddings and holidays

As we approach the middle of August, a very busy week approaches for me. The upcoming weekend brings my parents wedding, and after preparing for over a year now it's fair to say I'm getting emotional. This morning I finished the table plan which was the last thing I needed to do until the big day. After the wedding my closest friends and I are going on holiday and even though it's not a big holiday abroad were rather excited.

Recent Purchases - Makeup and Skincare

It appears that every time I go shopping I never fail to pick some sort of beauty product. After a couple of shopping trips with the girls I've gathered a small collection of new products.

One of the first products on my long list is the Sleek Brow Kit in light, which I grabbed wanting to try something new for my brows after using pencils for the past few years. However I've found that the wax in the duo is rather red toned and it does not suit my blonde brows. The powder is not too red and I'll occasionally use it to set my brows if I feel I need my brows setting.

I've blogged about the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder multiple times before, this generally is my go-to for powders.

The sleek contour kit is a product that I've wanted to try for a while now and I've got to say I was not disappointed. The contour is perfectly matte and blends well with a fluffy brush. I don't use highlighters regularly but I have found that I rather like this one as it is subtle and natural. The light contour kit is also great for my fair skin.

The final Sleek product I picked up was an I-Divine eyeshadow palette in 'Au Natural' which is a mix of mattes and shimmers, warm and cool shadows. This palette is great for everyday wear but also gives the opportunity to make an natural but dramatic look. The shadows in the palette are also fairly long lasting, meaning overall the palette is a great value for money.

Clinique chubby sticks are well known to all on the beauty scene. Therefore I felt that I needed to get myself a handy little lip balm. I've found that the intense chubby stick that I've acquired in 'Roomiest Rose'  is strong enough to be a lipstick but moisturizing enough to be a lip balm.
Whilst out I picked up two products from Benefit. The first being the Porefessional primer in the hope of making my makeup last the whole day. This product does as I wish, it reduces my pores and makes my makeup last the day.

The benefit 'boi-ing industrial strength concealer' is a thick creamy concealer. It covers blemishes and dark circles alike. However with my fair skin it can show up on blemishes, even in the lightest shade, so I use it on my dark circles.

One of the two skin care products I picked up was the Simple oil balancing cleansing wipes to try to balance my combination skin. After a limited time, I cannot say what effect the wipes have on my skin.

The final product to note is a micellar water, this type of product is raved about everywhere at the moment. I can understand why. This product removes makeup effortlessly and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clear. I picked up the Garnier Pure Active Micellar Water with it being such good value at roughly £4 for 400ml.

Recent Purchases - Jewellery

Here's some of my recent Jewellery finds,

These adorable little geometric necklaces are from Primark and at only three pound for the set they were an absolute bargain. I love wearing small, cute necklaces like these just below my collar bone to enhance my outfit in a  subtle way. Recently I've been wearing the golden triangle rather a lot.

This delicate gold leaf necklace is from new look and also a bargain at £2 in the sale.

These earrings, also from new look, are some of the cutest earrings I've seen in a while and would have been a great deal for a fiver but even better at the £2 that I got them for. My favorites have to be either the little dangle daisy earrings or the adorable angle ones.

We all know that Primark has amazing deals for some rather cute products and there's no exception in the case of these earrings.

The most expensive thing I bought on this shopping trip was this large Ted Baker wash bag in the print 'large distinguishing rose' and I have to say at £29 it's a hefty price for a wash bag but I just think the detailing on it is so beautiful.

Life update

Recently I've had to take an unannounced break from blogging, and for that I'm sorry. At the beginning of the year work was getting on top of me to the point I had to leave that job. I got to a point where I had no faith in anything I did and never felt like blogging. I've recently realized how great the people around me are Now I'm back on my feet and I'm much happier with a new job and I've started to work on posts for my blog again and many are just awaiting images.

2014 Favorites

After an extremely long and busy Christmas period, we're in January and I've been able to sit down for five minutes and reflect on the past year.

The first thing I loved throughout 2014 were the real technique brushes, they're such good quality for the price and I have happily gathered a small collection of these brushes. Here I have two of my favorites which include the base shadow brush which is great for applying and blending eyeshadow. The other is the retractable lip brush which I find extremely useful for on the go.
This is the Rimmel scandaleyes, which I'm sure most people have heard of. It's a basic black liner and due to it's waterproof qualities it tends to last all day.

The collection eyeshadow pencils are a creme formula which set on your eyelid and last all day which is great if you are busy, this one is in hot chocolate, a great everyday shade.

I loved the Maybeline falsies mascara through 2013 and I've loved it equally if not more in the past year, it's all I really ask for in a mascara.

After discovering soap and glory this year I have loved many of their products. Their kick ass concealer is great for covering up blemishes and  dark circles alike and even comes with it's own setting powder in one handy little case.

These are another couple of soap and glory products; their archery range. These eyebrow pencils have sat in my daily makeup bag for most of the past year and I plan to use them for the next year.

The Revlon colourstay foundation for dry skin was a new find this year and I love how it feels on my skin, the way it has a great coverage without feeling heavy.

This is my favorite perfume for 2014, and many other years too. I don't quite know what it is but I think it reminds me of home and spending time with family members who loved it when I was younger.

The simple spotless skin face wash has been a god send this year, it's helped me get my skin clearer and helped me improve my confidence in my own skin.
Finally is a rather weird thing to have in a favorites but I think this deodorant is an essential and I used this all of last year as I couldn't find one as good for such a good price.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas and is having a good new year so far,
Until next time, stay beautiful
